Adult Curriculum

Our program combines Filipino Martial Arts  (Doce Pares Eskrima  including Dumog (takedowns & grappling),  Jeet Kune Do, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu/Submission Grappling/MMA, in an effort to give the student a well rounded set of fighting skills. While we adhere to traditional values, we maintain an open and free flowing environment that encourages our students to explore what works for them in order to broaden their learning experience.

 

Our school has earned a reputation for high quality and safe instruction and for developing quality, competitive fighters. Students who have chosen to compete have won numerous national and international titles, including the WEKAF women's middleweight WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP in full contact stick fighting (held in the Philippines) in 1994 and the 1998 WEKAF men's light heavyweight national championship  ,the 1998 WEKAF seniors middleweight national championship and the 2004 Men's Middleweight National Champion. Our teams do extremely well in Submission grappling tournaments (NAGA and Grapplers Quest) consistently placing, a testament to the quality of our diverse training.

 

The program is conducted with realism and safety in mind. We have developed a warm and friendly environment perfect for men, women and children alike. While we embrace the martial arts values and philosophies, our classes are taught with realism and street effectiveness as the main goals in a more relaxed & free-flowing manner. We encourage our students to explore the material and develop what works for them.

All classes are preceded by a vigorous warm-up and workout designed to minimize the potential for injury and to greatly enhance your strength and cardiovascular condition. As you attend classes on a regular schedule you will notice your conditioning will improve as will your self confidence...you will feel better about your-self.

 

Tai Chi

Yang style T'ai Chi Chuan is an internal martial arts system founded by Yang Lu-Chan in the early 1800s, based on his study of the original Chen system of T'ai Chi.  Often associated with Yoga, T'ai Chi, or 'Supreme Ultimate Force', channels the body's vital energy, or 'chi', through a series of gentle exercises and routines (forms) designed to strengthen
the internal body and improves the overall health of the practitioner. In addition, the movements in the T'ai Chi forms comprise a complete and effective repertoire of self defense techniques designed to use an opponent's force against him.

Course material includes: 24 move short form, chi gung (meditative breathing exercises), stretching and conditioning, push hands (self defense sensitivity drills), self defense techniques inherent to the system, 108 move long form (intermediate to advanced).
